Rectifier bridge principle



The basic structure and working principle are the same as those of diodes in information electronic circuits; It consists of a PN junction with a large area,and leads at both ends and a package.


The rectifier bridge is a package of six secondary tubes in one module.


Rectifier bridge characteristics: mainly refers to its volt-ampere characteristics

1, The threshold voltage UTO, the voltage corresponding to the beginning of a significant increase in the forward current IF.

2, IF corresponds to the voltage across the power diode that is its forward voltage drop UF .

3, Under reverse voltage, there is only a small and constant reverse leakage current.

Rectifier Bridge Test

Check that the surface of the module is free from cracks deformation and breakage; the installation base plate of the module should be smooth and flat without scratches.


Use a digital multimeter to measure the diode profile. The red probe is connected to 2 (diode cathode) and the black probe is connected to 1 (diode anode). If the displayed value is 1 (i.e. infinity), the diode between pin 1 and pin 2 is in good condition. 


On the contrary, if the diode is turned on, the diode is damaged. The red probe is connected to 1, the black probe is connected to 3, and the displayed value is 1 (i.e. infinity), which means that the diode between pin 3 and pin 2 is in good condition. On the contrary, if it is turned on, it means that the diode is damaged.
